About the Vehicle Information
Vehicle specifications are decoded using the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vPIC vehicle database. Recall, safety-rating, and complaint information is provided using NHTSA vehicle data.
Recall results are based on available vehicle information and do not confirm whether a specific VIN currently has an open recall or whether a recall repair has already been completed. Contact the vehicle manufacturer or an authorized dealer to confirm VIN-specific recall status.
Vehicle Check vs. Physical Inspection
A VIN lookup can provide useful background information, but it does not replace a physical vehicle inspection. Mechanical condition, fluid leaks, brake wear, suspension condition, corrosion, abnormal noises, and visible collision repairs require an in-person inspection.
